CURRENT TENDENCY FOR THE ZEOLITES USE IN FERTILIZERS, TECHNOLOGICAL SURVEILLANCE

Abstract

This work contains a study of technological surveillance based on patent analysis, which provide insight into what has been the trend in recent years, with respect to technologies for the exploitation and use of zeolites in worldwide fertilizers, using as empirical method of enforcement, collection and analysis of information found in the patent specialized databases consulted through Internet. The study provides a critical and comparative analysis. It showed that the trend continues with respect to the natural zeolite in slow and controlled release fertilizer formulations mixed with organic compounds, humus, urea, manure and nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus potassium, calcium and magnesium. Rank among the top 4 places in amounts of patents, United States with the highest number (1978), followed by the World Bureau of Intellectual Property 587 which are patents filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty, which are recorded simultaneously in several countries as part of the patent family. Australia Continuous in third with 446, followed by China with 177 and other countries that are reflected in the work. The result the CIPIMM has had is also shown, having 18 brands of Zeolite, within there are 4 brands that protect fertilizer products; ZEOFER-P, ZEOFER-F- ZEOGOLF G and AGROMENAS, applied in the golf courses and various agricultural products as well as the zeopónicos with positive results.
